The Montante, a Spanish term for a large two-handed sword, is the equivalent of the French Espadon or the Italian Spadone. These imposing weapons, used in the 15th and 16th centuries, were used both on the battlefield and in duels. The "Black Fencer" Montante offers HEMA practitioners a faithful reproduction of this historical weapon, allowing the study and practice of techniques specific to these large swords.

This Montante simulator is the result of a collaboration between Black Fencer and HEMA experts. The 120 cm blade, made from a high-density nylon alloy, faithfully reproduces the characteristics of a steel blade while ensuring the safety of practitioners. The guard, equipped with two characteristic side rings, offers additional protection for the hands, faithful to historical models. The stainless steel pommel not only provides an authentic aesthetic aspect, but also a realistic balance.
