The Messer (which means "Knife" in German) is a arming sword with a blade that has only one sharp side. It is a weapon derived from butcher knives and appeared in Germany as early as the 15th century. It was used for self-defense as well as for dueling.
It appears in the manuscripts of many German masters of arms such as Hans Talhoffer and Johannes Lecküchner.
This reproduction, forged by Regenyei Armoury, is designed for the practice of European Historical Martial Arts.
